Why can't we get PBS America on EE TV when using the Apple TV box?

Hi,

I am essentially just wondering why we can't get this free channel on the EE TV app. It's the one channel I miss compared to using the aerial. If you could add it, I would be very appriciative, as I'm sure others would be as well.

You may only get PBS America in Aerial Mode.

@Gurbinav broadcasters choose the platforms they wish to offer their services on - EE doesn't have the right to broadcast channels without broadcaster consent.

@Gurbinav perhaps contact PBS America directly to see if they would add their channel to EE TV.

As it's currently available through Freely TV as a streaming channel fingers crossed it will make its way to EE TV at some point as well as some other popular channels that haven't appeared to date.

Hi!

I actually contacted them and got a response from the general manager: “I did look into getting listed on EE some time ago but their charges were too high. It would be easy for us to send them a stream. I will see if I can find a contact for them. Would you be happy for me to share your message?”

So it seems the problem lies on EE’s side, at least according to the broadcaster.

Hopefully they can overcome this hurdle as some customers like myself might be weighing up juggling between Freely and their EE packages to get the best experience for them.

Especially when it is being rumoured that the government will be launching a green paper on turning off Freeview/terrestrial TV signals for an IP TV future.

I've had it confirmed that we never charge channels to be included on EE TV.

This will be raised with our content partnerships team at a review later this week to see if anything can be done.

I have just been contacted by PBS America again after my initial exchange with them and they said that they have been trying to contact the EE TV team to provide them with a feed, but to no avail. Is there an email address for me to reach them (or for me to message you directly) so I can share my exchange with them and allow this to happen?
