I thought I would go further and start enquiring about getting EE tv in readiness for when my Sky contract comes up, as well as taking advantage of the £15 a month that I’d been offered.
But when I phoned both numbers one ending in 150 & the other in 6000, when I chose option 1, it then asked me to confirm the last 3 digits of my account number, which didn’t match and then asked me for my mobile No. which I couldn’t give as I’’m still with O2 until Oct.

Try calling EE Sales on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2 > option 4) . That won't ask for an EE mobile no.
