TV Software update frozen

I have EETV and several times a day, at random intervals, I get a software update message but it has frozen and doesn't respond to anything. I have checked for software updates and it says that they are all up to date. This is so frustrating because the only way to get rid of it is to turn the TV off and start again. (My TV is not a smart TV). Hope someone can help

Would you be able to post a photo of the message? TV Boxes don't usually notify of software updates - they just install them silently.

That's from your TV, not the TV Box. If you press OK / Select on your TV remote, it should accept the update and then you won't see it again.

No it doesn’t. It’s frozen. We’ve replaced batteries. Nothing shifts it apart from turning tv off Very fed up with EETV!
Sent from my iPhone

This is nothing to do with EE TV @PaulaW2409 - unplug the EE TV Box and you'll still see that message on your screen. You need to use the remote control that came with your TV - not the EE TV remote.

No! It's not the TV. we try to press the accept button and ok but nothing happens. the only way to get rid of it is to turn the tv off and start again. I am really fed up with EETV! this has been going on for weeks now

Thank you so much! I tried this last night and it seemed to have worked. I feel a bit foolish as I had completely forgotten we had two remotes. Once the update screen came on I disconnected the EE box and used the other remote to accept the update. Thank you again for your help. Much appreciated
