Is this on Sky Sports channels @Topbanana6 ? Unfortunately they don't provide us with accurate recording signals (which tell recordings when to stop), so recordings will stop exactly as scheduled. The only workaround for this is to schedule the programme after to record too.

If it's on TNT Sports, then signals are available and recordings should extend if the programme overruns. If this failed for you, please let me know the channel and programme, and I'll check what went wrong.

Anybody got the best way to record live sport programs as I’m getting really frustrated when you miss the ending due to overruns. Virgin Media allowed you to add a timed buffer which I can’t believe EE don’t, or am I missing something

Thank you for the response. Yes this was Sky Sports and happened again yesterday. The work around does make the record a series function pointless if you need to visit every occurrence to record the next and probably the program after that. I don’t understand why you can’t add an overrun buffer to a recording like Virgin Media

The decision was made many years ago to not add this, and instead rely on broadcasters sending the correct signals for recordings. Many of them do, but annoyingly Sky don't. It has been deemed too complex to add now, just for a few channels.

What was the event yesterday that overran?

It was the NBA playoff basketball which was really bad and I missed most of the last quarter (must have started late). This is why I said you may have to record the next two programs if they are quite short
