Watching a programme on ITVX lets me watch untill 2nd set of adverts then freezes. When I go back it makes me watch the adverts all over again. Happens every time. Annoying that even on record we have to watch adverts!

Welcome to the EE Community!

I've not heard any similar reports with ITVX freezing like this; do you get any error messages when this happens, and is it as you're coming back out of the ad break?

Also if you haven't already, can you please try a light reset on your box, as indicated in our help guide here?

Peter W, exactly the same as this has been happening to me for months. I'm at my daughter's house now and it is doing exactly the same here. No error message, it just freezes coming out of every ad break. The only thing that it responds to is pressing the back button so when you go back into the program you have to watch the ads for a second time. There you go, you've heard similar reports now.

Have you tried the reset that I recommended in my last post?

Also do you experience this with any other apps, or is it exclusively ITVX?

Exactly the same for me. Affects ITVX - freezes after 2nd set of adverts, no error message - have to back up, go into app again and rewatch the adverts! I have only had EE TV for 3 days and its driving me mad already.

I have had ee for 3 days and I am experiencing this exact issue. I can see this has been raised has been raised several times on the forum with no resolve. This is troublesome for me as I watch this channel regularly.

I have no idea if it will make any difference but ITV is one of the Youview TV partners where targeted adverts are provided unless you opt out (you will still see adverts just they won’t be tailored to you).

You can opt out or in within the BOx Pro under Settings>Profile Management>Privacy Settings > Targeted Ads.

If you are getting problems with the advert breaks it may be worth experimenting as to whether changing your current targeted ads option makes any difference to your viewing experience.

@zulu17 that might be a possibility that’s worth @Crobe7 @NicFitz @Xraygirl74 @Peter_W checking out

I’ve just finished watching Halt and Catch Fire on ITVX . That’s 4 seasons of 10 episodes per season, with 3 ad breaks per episode (some with 4), so upward of 120 ad breaks, and not once did it fail to come back after any of the breaks.

I am opted out of targeted ads (Pro Box and wired connection for the record)

Mine freezes after each ad break. So annoying. You have to go back and hope it goes to the part you are watching. Is this an EE problem or an ITV one. In any case someone should sort it out

Only on the App. If it is ITV I think they should be taken to task and sort this out, or is it a ploy to make everyone pay for Add Free

Done it to me quite a few times, can’t be bothered watching the ads again so I use the time to make myself a brew! Lol

It's not specific to the EETV version of the app.

It crashes on me using the Chromecast verion during breaks a lot
