Retaining sky booster function

Hi. I’m changing to EE BB but keeping my sky tv package for now. I have a booster (garden cabin) hard wired into my main Q box that I use for connecting a ring camera and my laptop when in the cabin. Does anyone know if this will still function once I change to EE ???? Thanks

I would expect it to work as the tech is not changing however if there are any problems I would not expect EE to be able to diagnose any issues with coverage using it. EE does have their own WI-FI boosters however these are intended for in home use only but I am sure would work in a similar way.

It’s the standard booster but plugged into the main Q box.

@Daigo2105 Then that standard booster has to connect to your new replacement EE Hub, once that is done you next have to see if it will pass the required data to the sky Q to work! Sky Q will require to be reset and will now need Network settings adjusted to work on a Third Party Network device, you will find out HOW to do that on the sky Q Help site!

NONE of the sky boosters will work with an EE supplied hub so when you say standard it CANNOT BE A SKY ONE! Make sure it is NOT one off those from the link below!

. Thanks JimM11, I suspect I’m going to have a problem! I have a few Qboosters but the one mentioned is hardwired into a box though. The sky eng did this to allow me to take WiFi up to my office which was cool of him actually.

ill give it a go when the transfer happens next week.

@Daigo2105 You are 100% wasting your time, telling you right now your sky Q booster WILL NOT work with anything apart from a sky Supplied Hub! You will need to go source something that will work for you!
