My EE box works fine with my LG oled.

I rarely (to never) use the EE TV app.

The box is used for recordings. The EE apps I pay for, and others I pay for direct, I access via the telly.

🤷🏼

I was just wondering if I can get EE TV to work on an LG TV?

Just a question as I have seen that it will not work, and I have paid £750 for a Which number one TV which does not work for a BT / EE service. I am glad I left BT nearly 50 years ago.

Most of the question is about not why EE TV does not work, but more importantly how I can get out of the contract for a service which clearly does not work. I do not mind paying top money for a good service, but I find it abhorrent that I can buy a top rated TV which is recommended ny Which as their number one choice, but I cannot access the EE TV service because they are too stupid to not be able to build an app that works on LG TVs. Just saying, as I just like answers to the obvious questions. Derrr!

The EE TV service provides you with a set top box to connect to your TV - this works with any TV, including your LG.

The EE TV app is a companion app with very limited features, and even if you could install it, you probably wouldn't use it. It is mostly offered to provide access to the EE TV store, where you can watch movies and TV shows that you've rented. It does also provide access to a few channels, however e.g. the TNTSports channels and discovery+ channel are all available in the discovery+ app which is available for LG TVs. For the Now TV subscription channels, you can install the Now TV app which is also available for LG TVs.

If there's something specific you're missing, let me know and I can advise how you can view it.

Thanks. I struggled big time with an LG OLED TV just getting started. That took several hours. I have now added the TV guide from EE but wonder where the apps have gone, and also how I record any channels or TV programs. I have Netflix, and Now through EE TV and others via subscription but they all appear to be linked to the new LG TV now, and I have lost some of the ability of the TV services of my EE subscription.

I am getting there slowly, but the recording is definitely a mystery.

Thanks.

As in my other reply, how do I record on the LG TV as the controls for the EE box no longer operate on the screen.

It asks for an USB if I try and setup a recording.

It then appears *on* the TV.

With the EE box remote, select Guide and your programme, then the red Record button.

It does so via a USB flash drive inserted into the TVs USB socket. It’s nothing to do with recording via the EE TV box.

See my other post on how to set the box to record.

Thanks. It sounds simple enough. Where do I select the "as the source on your TV. It then appears *on* the TV."

I can see the programs, and all are managed by my LG controls only.

Assuming the TV Box Pro is connected to your TV, the best thing to suggest first would be to turn on your TV and then press the big circle power button at the top of the EE TV remote. The light on the front of the EE TV Box will turn on, and most TVs will then automatically switch to the TV Box input. You'll see the EE logo in the top left corner of the screen. You can then press the Guide button on the EE TV remote to see what's on TV.

The solution was to do partly with bluetooth but a bit more involved than just that. It appears I was not using the EE box at all as when I turned it off I still had the same functionality.

Anyway, to pair and unpair the bluetooth use 9 and Home button for five seconfds followed by 7 and Home button. This pairs and unpairs.

I also checked to see what bluetooth devices were recognised and I added the EE TV controls to this, and finally I checked what was being seen as an HDMI input and added the EE TV. And hey presto, it all started wo0rking eventually.

I need to tell chatGPT as I did most of this by myself, It took a week to figure it out as the help guides are mostly useless. Anyway this was the Solution.

Most of that wasn't needed - just Home+7 is needed to reset the remote, but it will have already been reset when it was delivered, so should just work out of the box.

For most people, you just need to connect it and turn the box on - TVs should automatically recognise it and switch to that HDMI input.

Glad you got there in the end though.
