Is there an option to record a programme to the ee box instead of 'recording' a link to the programme on catch up?

A lot of my 'recordings' have expired as they are no longer available on catch up so I'd rather actually record them so I can watch when I want.

Hi @Joew4 Recordings on the Box Pro can be scheduled easily from the guide etc.

Recordings made will remain on your box until either you delete them or (depending upon your choices they auto delete if your box is full). HOWEVER when in IP mode BBC channel recordings are not playable but rather link to the BBC iPlayer (if available) which will ultimately expire. Aerial mode BBC channel recordings remain playable. Other (non BBC ) channels recordings should be playable even if their catchup is no longer available.

Is this the problem you are experiencing ?

That sounds like it might be the problem, I haven't checked if it's just BBC channels but it may well be.

Is there a way of overriding that function with the BBC channels so they always actually record do you know?

@Joew4 Only if you use aerial mode rather than ip mode. Your BBC recordings are actually being made and occupying disc space but the agreement EETV has made with the BBC for the provision of the ip channels lP mode means that they don't allow you to access the recording but rather provide a link to the iPlayer. Given that not all programmes are made available on iPlayer and some (eg local news) ore only available for a day it is not serving the licence paying public adequately.
