Hi,

Does the TV box provide surround sound to an Amp? I cannot get it to work via HDMI will it work with the optical connection?

I had it running via hdmi to a soundbar with rears and a sub, and it worked. Previously had a BT version of the same box plugged into a marantz amp via hdmi and that worked too.

Check the box settings. You need to set “Surround” on.
