EE TV pro box sound volume extremely low.

EE TV pro box sound volume extremely low. Tried swapping hdmi port and new hdmi cable but sound is ridiculously low. Even with my brand new TV on full volume we can barely hear the TV. TV is loud with all other devices but not the EE TV pro box. Turned off Dolby 5.1 on the TV and both with or without this turned on we can barely hear the TV even at 100% volume. Can't see any settings in the EE TV pro box to disable or change sound output. Anyone know of a fix. I don't want to use a sound bar just to use the EE TV pro box.

I have a similar problem. Very annoying. Wish I hadn't swapped over to EE.

@Arnookie @Higg_2487 Something that worked for me was to set the volume to the maximum it will go using the EE Tv pro max remote. Then swap to the remote for the TV you have the box connected to and use the volume slider to set the volume to as high as you are likely to want. If you then swap back to the EE box remote you can then use the volume control buttons to reduce the sound to whatever level you want. In effect what this seems to do is to set the EE box max volume level using the TV remote control. Hope this helps

already tried this it made no difference unfortunately. It is odd as some channels and programs are loud but others a so quiet even with the tv and ee box turned to 100%

I have no idea if the ee tv box pro supports dolby 5.1 if it does and its set to dolby 5.1 it can cause this issue. There is no way of changine the audio output type via the ee box settings.

EE for anything other than mobile is simply rubbish. We moved from BT broadband and Sky TV to EE on both and we’re completely miss sold both products by their in store staff. The TV service itself is fine but it’s got nothing on Sky and has poor audio, no Disney plus or paramount plus which we were told it would have. Also can’t record on any box other than the smart box where as on sky you can record on anything. Just complete garbage. I’m still in my cooling period but am seriously considering going back to Sky which is more expensive. That tells you how crap it really is…

I’d hazard a guess that if you went back to Stereo, you would find that the box wasn’t at maximum volume there.

The sound is really low on some channels.
had SKY before used to watch on volume 14-18.

now having to put on on 65+.

Package is great and half the price of Sky but volume issue is very frustrating.

Is there a fix?

Thanks, Switching on HDMI Surround sound fixed the low volume on the EE TVbox.

Hello Midnight.

Indeed, also disables the volume control on the box all together, would be nice it if all tied in with HDMI control etc, like when you set Surround Sound on, the EE remote will then control whatever sound system you are using.

Even if you're not running an AV or external sound bar etc, most TV's should be able to take the 5.1 mix and probably appreciates it, especially those ones that brag fancy replicated SS etc.

I’ve just moved from Sky and found the same, having just got off the phone to EE/BT the problem is sorted and very easy to rectify.

1. Turn the TV remote controllers volume up to MAX sound.

2. Press HOME and 9 buttons together for 3-5 seconds and this programs the EE remote to the full TV volume.

This is the main reason i refuse to use it, i have it wll connected up as i was bundled with my wifi, but the sound quality is atrocious, i never watch normal TV so to be fair I'm not missing much

It really is laughable, how everyone has the same issue, yet instead of acknowledging it as a known issue they say turn the volume up to max on the TV 😂😂😂 as if we want to wake our neighbours when we decide to watch something else. I don't even use the box anymore, i stick to YouTube and Netflix now. They should just admit there's an issue and release an update to fix it

Not "everyone" @PhillVapez - even if everyone on this board was experiencing the issue, there'd still be hundreds of thousands of people either not experiencing it, or not reporting it.

I personally don't experience this issue.
