Thinking of switching from Sky Q multi room after decades. We currently watch on multiple boxes and devices. I'm reading in forums that for EE, I would only be able to register 4 devices. I'm planning on getting the recordable box and two mini boxes. I watch a lot of sport hence the attraction of EE my wife doesn't. So my question is can I register Now TV ( which is where I'd stream sky sports) on different devices than EE TV or is the Now account linked to the EE one? Specifically, I'd like to watch sports on the main recordable box, one of the minis and multiple Apple TV, phone, iPad. Is this possible as EE seems to have (from what I've read) a device limit of 4 but Now TV seems to have a device limit of 6? Have I got that right? Many thanks for any info that could shed light.

Hi Chris, many thanks for your reply. So Now TV wouldn't automatically be registered on the second mini box as the Sky channels are part of the EPG?

The 4 device limit applies to the EE TV app.

Now TV removed their device limits, and only have a concurrent streaming limit - you can watch on up to 3 devices at the same time with Now Boost, across TV box and apps. You can change devices as often as you like.

(updated from my previous comment which was incorrect)

Many thanks for your reply. So just to clarify, if I go for the recordable box and 2 mini boxes these won't count against the limit of 4 EE devices as they are independent of the app? So effectively I can register 7 devices? Also, does TNT SPorts play through the Discovery+ app and if so, does that have a device limit? Thanks again for the help.

Sorry, but the answer isn't a simple one - it depends what you want to watch.

The "4 EE devices" only applies to the EE TV app on mobiles, tablets, and smart devices. Your 3 TV boxes don't count towards that limit. If you take out 2 extra boxes (i.e. the TV Box Pro and 2 x TV Box Mini) then your subscription will automatically allow you to watch most channels on all boxes at the same time.

The TNT Sports channels play as live channels from the TV Guide and ALSO within the discovery+ app. The rules on concurrency for these channels have changed a lot with these, and I'm not sure on what they currently are. Maybe @Vichu1 can contribute here, as he has a lot more knowledge of this area.

I believe a discovery+ premium subscription (thats the level that has TNT Sports) allows two concurrent streams - they would have to maintain that as a minimum as that was what BT sport App offered (part of the WBD/BT Joint venture agreement to close BT Sport App tthey had to provide equivalent ). Of course if/when BT exit the joint venture that could change,

Hi @rsgils , @zulu17 ,

There are two different rules that affect how many people can watch at the same time, depending on what you're watching and where.

Watching non-NOW channels on your EE TV boxes:

The number of TV boxes you can use at once depends on your EE multiroom subscription.

So if you have 3 TV boxes, and the multiroom subscription to match, you're fine — these don't count towards the limit for the EE TV app.

The "4 EE devices" limit only applies when using the EE TV app on things like phones, tablets, or smart TVs.

Watching NOW channels (like Sky Cinema, Sky Atlantic, etc.):

The number of devices you can use at the same time depends on whether you have the NOW Boost add-on.

Here’s how it works:

Without NOW Boost:
– You can only watch on 1 device at a time outside of your EE TV boxes.
– But you can still watch on 2 EE TV boxes at once.

With NOW Boost:
– You can watch on 2 devices at once outside your EE TV boxes.
– And up to 3 EE TV boxes at the same time.

Just a heads-up: if you're watching on both an EE TV box and another device (like Apple TV, mobile, etc.), the limits might behave slightly differently depending on the combination.

TNT Sports:

If you're watching via your EE TV box, the limit is based on your multiroom subscription with EE

But if you're watching on the Discovery+ app, the limit is 2 streams at a time (as per Discovery+ support).
