My old post showed as solved so I'm asking here:

Any update on UHD for NOW/various channels on EE Apple TV 4K?

Also, I've found that live sport has quite a delay compared with Sky Q - I certainly get text alerts of a goal around a minute before the gameplay. I know Sky Stream has a new low latency option. Does EE have plans for similar does anyone know?

As with all EE products, I'm afraid no information can be shared about future updates until they're ready to be announced.

There are currently no updates on supporting Now Ultra Boost, and no announcement has been made about Low Latency.

There isn't any update for UHD on NOW, if you want the Ultra Boost Addon you need to take up an account direct with NOW which is not managed by EE. We have no idea when Ultra Boost will be there on NOW through EE.

With regards to delay, Sky Q is going to always be the fastest, its satellite, around 5 seconds, the only thing quicker than Sky Q might be aerial based terrestrial.

EETV is using multicast, assuming you are watching it on a EETV Box via the live channels and not an app, is pretty quick compared to unicast streaming such as any app on Apple TV. I saw that Sky Offer low latency for Sky Stream which is 10 seconds or something, that wont be coming to Apple TV.

Never say never. It's been on our hit list since the BT Sport days - I hope we'll get there eventually.

Ah, were you referring just to the Now TV app on Apple TV? I'm not sure of their plans.

I'd like to think we'll have low latency for the channels in the EE TV app eventually - though it's not my decision.

Yeah, I'm not overly sure what the OP meant to be honest, seemed to be asking about Apple TV 4K so assuming they are watching the NOW App there, so I would be forgiven for assuming that any Sky Low Latency thing would be targeted at Sky Stream and not NOW, further still, if it was allowed for NOW as an addon we would be in the same boat we are with Ultra Boost, apart from that is actually available direct on NOW which is in some respects further ahead....and the wait goes on 🙂

I'm specifically thinking of UHD and low latency while watching through the EE TV app itself, which is why @DarrenDev 's reply is interesting.

I mean Ultra Boost isnt there yet, TNT Sport Ultimate could get it sooner considering its part of the broader BT/EE eco system, maybe Darren meant that as he mentioned BT Sport.

With that said, i'd take a 5 minute delay if it meant we could get ultra boost over the line a bit sooner 😛

If you have EE TV through an Apple TV why can’t EE offer ultra boost through the Now app?

The issue isn't with the app @nmdj27 - it's the billing integration. EE's systems need to be integrated with the new Now TV billing system that offers the Ultra boost add on This isn't ready yet.
