Unexpected Changes to ITV Region on EE TV Pro Box in IP Mode

I set my EE TV Pro box to series record Karen Pirie on ITV. My box is set to Internet Mode. The first episode recorded fine but the second failed so I looked at some of the details that are available.

I live in Milton Keynes and my preferred region (suggested by the box) is Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. The successful recording was made on ITV1 Anglia West but the details of the failed recording report ITV1 Meridian North. When I check the the details of the scheduled recording of the next episode, the box says ITV1 Central East.

Is it normal for the box in internet mode to skip between ITV regions and could this explain my failed recording?

I have done the usual stuff about rebooting and resetting to keep recordings so grateful for any other advice.

I have to confess @AmateurKnight - I'm baffled.

I can see that when you turned your TV box on at 8:22 this morning, it spontaneously switched from Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire, to Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

I can't offer any explanation I'm afraid! I'll ask the wider team if anyone has any idea.

It doesn't explain the failed recording though - your TV Box was still in Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire last night when the recording should have happened.

An observation rather than an explanation.

Karen Pirie was in the EPG for a scheduled 8pm start on Sunday.
At some point during the evening the ITV schedules changed due to their coverage of Euro 2025 and the programme broadcast at 9pm.

At some point EPG will have changed. How these changes occur and precisely when could affect whether a recording is successful. If a recording is unsuccessful Youview will look for an alternative showing of the programme to schedule.

Thanks for checking. I’m not too bothered which ITV region the box connects to because I never watch local programmes. What interests me is why the IP mode swaps between regions. Having three different ITV regions for three episodes of the same series is bonkers.

Thanks. I think that you are probably correct about the EPG changes but can’t find any reshooting time but that’s what ITVX is for I suppose.

We're digging further with YouView to try to understand how the TV region changed. Are you OK to change it back to Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire? We'd like to trace it through the system and see if it happens again.

I have never touched the regional setting since I initially set up the box. I have just checked that it is set to Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and will leave it there unless you advise me to change it some time in the future.
