I’ve paid for basic sports package but really don’t want, or need to use the supplied EE router. Will this cause issues with the TV package?

Perhaps I should be asking when my 14 day cancellation period starts (surely it’s when the service (FF) starts - today)!!

If you've taken the TV Box Pro or TV Box Mini then they may not work with your router for live TV channels.

If you've taken Apple TV, or only plan to use the Discovery+ and/or Now TV apps, then you can use any router you want.

Bear in mind that you may be asked to use the router if you have any network related issues - with either your broadband or TV service.

Your 14 day trial starts on your agreed service start date (in your order confirmation email) - usually the day your broadband is activated.

I’ve got an AppleTV (not from EE) if that helps. Basically want (need!) to watch / record TNT sports and I think Discovery+. Specifically for MotoGP and World Superbikes. Will they work or will I need to rethink my whole network?

The TV Box Pro seemed ideal - guess I was wrong?

If you want to record then you need the TV Box Pro, so it all depends what your router is capable of - specifically IGMP snooping is required. Just give it a try.

If it fails (it'd be with error IPC6023) then temporarily connect the EE router and see if it works via that. If it does, then your router is at fault. If it doesn't then wait until tomorrow and try again (activation can sometimes take until the end of the day) - if it still fails tomorrow then raise a fault.

Once it's working on the EE router, you can then check on your own.

Enabled IGMP Snooping on the UDMPro but not seeing a difference yet. It’s now set to ‘default’ under ‘Multicast settings’ no VLans currently set up but the TVBP is directly connected to a Ubiquiti switch (SW Lite 8 PoE)

Full fibre was only set up late this morning so maybe it’s a time thing - probably wishful thinking here.

Just to add a bit to this. TV Box Pro and the paid for Sports all working through the EE router but as soon as I go via my Ubiquiti UDMPro I get the dreaded IPC6023. Direct from the UDMPro doesn’t help (removes a switch from the equation).

IGMP enabled on the UDMPro. There’s also an IPTV setting which makes no difference either way. Not sure how much deeper I can delve into the UDMPro settings here as I’m not seeing anything relevant.

Can see me cancelling the Sports at this rate - still looking on the bright side it’ll save me £23/month!
