Intermittently I need to switch off my EETV Settop box and restart it because occasionally I'm unable to use the iplayer and apps, plus the mytv seems to be an issue as it goes back to the menu like the signal isn't strong enough, once I've switched the box off at power then on again, once the box is on fully the issue has gone.

This is a Wi-Fi connected box, non cable connected!

Hard to answer that question but I'd say not more that 6 to 8 weeks, I've only had the service since end of last November.

If so did you have an issue then?

Lesley

No, only WiFi, can't do cable connection as the router is in other room and therefore unable to have a cable coming through that distance. So WiFi is my only option.

I can only assume that the issue is down to the fact that the router and settop box are a good distance from each other, approx 8 metres apart in different rooms.

I doubt very much that it's to do with the settop box or router, infact I'm surprised that I don't have any reception issues for normal viewing given the distance apart.

The only way round this would be for to change the location of the incoming fibre cable which is at the back of the house and make it come up from the front which would allow the box to be connected via hard wired instead of relying on WiFi.

This was the setup when I moved into the property so I never really had any say on where I'd like it to be from outside.

I was informed previously that if I wanted the location changed that the cost of doing so would be on me, this in my opinion is unfair going on what I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

I also think perhaps that it's just a build up of data in the settop box that just requires released by switching off and on again which fixes the problem.
