24 Month Cinema subscription vs monthly Now TV pass

Hi, can someone explain to me if there is a technical difference in what you get if you sign up for the full 24 month TV contract for Now Cinema, versus just having "Entertainment" and then going with a monthly pass when needed?

In the full contract it says you have access to the cinema channels, and streaming. Is this also the case for the rolling monthly sub?

I guess the main point is - if I opt for the recordable TV box, am I able to record movies from Sky Cinema channels on the box, regardless whether I am on the 24 month Cinema contract, or the Now TV monthly option?

With the recordable box, can I fast forward through adverts?

Same questiona applies I guess to the sports options?

No technical difference.

If you take a 24 month contract or just added it several times a year, then you will have the same experience at a technical level. The key here is that you are basically agreeing that EE manage your NOW account, so by buying through them (flexibly as an add on or via a contract), you get to use their kit and any features that brings.

Plenty of people buy a core service on a contract (say Entertainment or Big Sport), and then add other packs as a monthly rolling add on at points during the year.

Yes.

Yes.

The only caveat is you cannot use a NOW pass bought elsewhere/via another account and get the same experience (such as recording).

Yes. The question is, why would you need to when the movies will be available, advert free (assuming you have Boost), on demand via the NOW app?

Thanks that's pretty clear.

I guess you are correct that if you have the subscription you can just stream the movie - only issue would be if a movie rolled off the availability for streaming but was still on your recorder - but in that case maybe it would also stop playing on teh recorder?

Now that one is a bit more difficult to answer because Sky have the capability to do that on Sky Q, but I don't think I have seen that on EE TV with NOW content personally.

I am reasonably sure the box is capable of stopping you playing content you have recorded but the provider no longer has the rights to, but have never seen it myself.
