So my new tv has Apple TV app, log in no EE tv

cant find an EE tv app yet I have one for my phone?

so Is the only way to watch EE tv via a separate box ?

I think you're getting confused between the Apple TV+ streaming service from Apple which has an app on a lot of platforms and app stores, and the Apple TV 4K Box that is provided by EE on their EE TV service.

EE TV requires the hardware from EE themselves, and customers can either have the EE TV Box Pro recordable set top box, EE TV Box Mini streaming box or the EE-provided Apple TV 4K Box.

The EE TV service is only available on these devices, alongside an EE TV contract for said service.

An EE TV App exists on the Android and Apple app stores, as well as for the Apple TV Box, but this only provides a selected number of channels (typically Discovery and TNT Sports) on non-EE provided devices and not a full Live TV experience as you would get on the EE hardware. If you want to watch TNT or Discovery channels on a platform the EE TV app is not available on, you could download the Discovery+ App instead (if it is available) and watch Live on there.
