OK fair thoughts let me try and answer them:

I can only record 2 shows at a time from 6 - You have your box set up without an aerial, if you had an aerial you would increase this to record 3 and watch a 4th

You can't talk to it, very convenient - Not something EE seem keen yo invest money into, may be Youviews end as well but I manage without

No shopping channels. I hate going shopping - I think there are a few available on normal Freeview, as you are watching without an aerial the number of channels is limited due to licence restrictions (At least thats what I was told)

Doesn't control the tv so I have to use multiple controllers - Make sure the settings under Bluetooth remote are set correctly if not it will be a compatibility issue

I've just switched to EE tv and find it's very basic from the virgin tv I had.

Will it get better. I'm not sure I've made the right move jumping ship.

The only positive at the moment is I won't be watching so much tv

I need convincing

Researched Internet spead but not tv part.
We had to have boosters for the WiFi to reach the rest of the house and
even with them it was slow.
This seems to be better but we've only had it a few days.
I already had Now and Netflix.
I was expecting the same really.

I have never had VM services however I have had EE TV for a long time now and I find it perfect for my needs. I have Netflix and "Big Entertainment" which is the NOW TV shows and films and use both the live TV and the catch up. What are you expecting which you are not getting?

Sounds like you've moved to EE-TV from Virgin Media TV360.

Both VM-TV360 and their slightly older (but arguably better) TiVo-V6 service are premium-pay-TV recording services. The whole pay-TV industry is moving away from a recording model towards a streaming/OnDemand approach - VM now only offer a TV360 recording box at additional charge if you specifically ask for it. Functionally many would argue this is a step backwards.
