Hi @Sarah2741

The tv multicast needs our hub (or a hub/router that supports multicast configured to act like our hub) to be the router, so putting a switch between the modem and the router won't work as it won't assign the tv box an IP address properly.

There are no steps or configurations that would work if the hub itself doesn't support multicast.

You could try using our hub as the router, connect your Nest to it and set the Nest up in access point mode so it just handles the WiFi.
That may work, but the tv box might need to be connected directly to the hub, bypassing the Nest.

Hope this helps!

Let us know how you get on.

Ali

Hey EE gang!

I'm trying to install my EE TV Pro box, which has Nest WiFi.

Plenty of posts here and across the internet mention the key issue - that the Nest WiFi router doesn't support Multicast. As such, right now can only watch apps.

I've seen fringe mentions here of being able to use a managed network switch to get round this issue.

To date though, haven't had much luck.

Could someone share what the right steps/setup should be to get this working?

Currently have a Netgear switch sitting between the modem and Nest WiFi router. EE TV connected via Power line adapter to the switch. VLan tagging the Router + modem & then modem + EE TV together with IGMP snooping on. When it's set up this way - the EE TV keeps complaining it can't connect to the broadband at all.
