Yes, that’s how it works, so you only have to connect problematic devices to the Compatible WiFi.

But you should be able to see what connections are available in the Box’s WiFi setup, and choose the Compatible one.

It’s also worth asking the Box to forget the Main connection, if you have that option, so it doesn’t quietly revert to it one night.

Following an issue with EE BB changing the security protocol by removing WPA-2 in favour of WPA-3 many of my smart home devices stopped connecting to WiFi. I found that I had to change my whole smart home to connect to the 'Compatible WiFi' option which still supports WPA-2.

However, this means my EE TV also now needs to be on the Compatible WiFi but this has presented another issue.

Streamed channels, including TNT Sports and Sky no longer record since the EE TV Box has been added to Compatible WiFi.

Does anyone know of a workaround or setting change that can be made on the TV box or router to allow the streamed channels to record on Compatible WiFi?

**EDIT: In the router settings it states that if a device has an issue connecting to the main WiFi then you should connect it to Compatible WiFi instead but, if connected by ethernet, there doesn't actually appear to be any way of selecting whether the device uses Main WiFi or Compatible WiFi specifically.

Can’t solve you main issue right now, as there’s no obvious reason that recording would fail over Compatible WiFi, but would point out that if connected by Ethernet (wired) then WiFi, Main or Compatible, doesn’t come into it, as the Ethernet connection replaces WiFi to the box.

AAMOI, what exactly happens now when you try to record? Any error message, say?

For example, all 3 MotoGP episodes since yesterday on TNT Sports. Also tried to record on Sky Sports and that showed as 'Failed to Record' also.

No problems recording at all until I turned on Compatible WiFi, and all streamed programmes now fail to record.

I understand what you say about ethernet connection but Compatible WiFi has a separate SSID so I'm assuming the TV box is connecting to the Main WiFi SSID, with the problematic WPA-3 when I need it to connect to the Compatible WiFi SSID with WPA-2 protocol or is that not how it works?
