Get Sony Bravia to default to EE TV when I switch it on.

Pretty much the title. When I had a Sky Q box and turned it on, my Sony Bravia would turn on AND default to the Sky input.

With EE TV Pro. I turn it on, Tv turns on but it stays on the Bravia Home Screen. I have to fiddle with the Sony remote to select the input for the EE TV Pro box.

Anyone know how I can get the turn on behaviour to default to what channel is currently on EE TV when I switch it on.

Welcome to the Community

For turning your TV on, this should happen automatically via HDMI-CEC. Some TVs only support this on specific HDMI ports - is it in the same port that the previous box was? Are you able to try different ports?

For turning the TV off, you need to hold the power button for 2 seconds - this should then turn the TV Box and TV off. If you just press it briefly, it'll only turn off the TV Box.

yes the EE remote switches on/off the Sony tv.

what I’m asking is: when I use the EE remote to switch on tv box-how can I get the Sony tv, when it also switches on, to default to the HDMI channel the EE box is playing tv through. Sky Q used to do this.

what happens is everything switches on but the tv stays on the Google/android homepage.

@Cosmic68 It should automatically switch over to the corresponding HDMI to match the EE box.

Do you have the EE box connected to the same HDMI port that the Sky Q box used to be connected to?

Hi yes I do (HDMI 1).

I’ve tried on different HDMI’s and it’s the same.

its possibly a question for a Sony forum I guess.
