How do you stop live TV after you either rewound or paused live TV?

How do you stop live TV after you either rewound or paused live TV?

I would have expected that you would press stop button and it would take you back to the live program but unfortunately BT/EE did not include this functionality on their remotes.

I have seen previous posts that say press 'Back'. Whilst this works on recorded TV programs it does not work when you are watching live TV.

The only way i can see a way around this is to go to guide, change channel and go back to the original channel. If you go to guide and then select the same channel, it takes you back to where you paused the TV program and not live hence you need to change the channel. This seems absolutely bonkers.

Another way is to fast forward until you meet live TV again... which is not ideal

Surely there's got to be an easy way of doing this?

Welcome to the EE Community 😊

I've had a check, and it seems the quickest way to get back to live TV is either to change channel, or to select the icon on the progress bar and hold the right arrow, which will advance it forwards in 1 minute increments.

I can certainly feed this back as an option though, as I can see how a 'return to live' option could be helpful.

Thanks for your response.

It makes sense that you should use the ‘Back’ button to return to live tv and therefore, you are replicating the functionality of the ‘stop’ in the recorded programs.
