Phone cuts out when call mobile or land line numbers. Currently in USA.

I have roaming set up, come to the USA frequently, suddenly phone only working on wassap. Will not connect any other calls.

I can't call EE for hel - 'cos phone wont connect.

Welcome to the community,

I take it you have roaming enabled on your account?

Have you tried doing a manual search for a network to see if that makes a difference.

If on Android, have you tried switching off 5G to see if that works?

You may want to do the same with IPhone, instead of automatic try changing it.

Yes to all of that. Phone dials the number then cuts it off showing 'call
ended'

Can you send & receive texts? Can you use mobile data?

Which networks are giving the issues with voice calls? Have you been able to use those same networks for calls previously on this trip?

I posted this earlier - got some help - problem seemed to fix itself, now its reverted bck again. Very frustrating - I can't call 150 - 'cos phone wont connect. grrrr

Unfortunately the problem has returned. Really frustrating. Can't dial 150 etc etc Phone just wont connect

Hi @JanetFRC

A couple of things to try-

If you have an iPhone or Google Pixel please complete a network settings reset on your device.

When trying a manual network selection, be sure to wait 5 minutes for the phone to fully connect with the new network before testing any calls.

Is it only UK numbers you're unable to dial, or USA numbers too?

Hi Ali

I have an android phone. The phone will not call any numbers mobile of
landline in either the US or the UK. It worked for a bit yesterday then
reverted back to not calling numbers. it just shows 'call ended'.

Ive looked up a network settings reset and am a bit anxious I won't be able to reconnect afterwards. I know it's just passwords

but I need the phone for work and I'm scrping by at the moment on whatsapp - I'm fearful to lose anything else.

Do you have access to an alternative device to briefly test your SIM card in for calls?
