Otherwise you will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/chile.

As you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before leaving UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your no.

Hello,

I have a Full Works roaming package with EE that allows me to travel and use date between UK and EU easily within the same package.

However, I am going to Chile next and see this is not included in the package (I believe). I saw the Roam Abroad Pass got scrapped in Dec 2024.

What is best for Chile? Purchase a local sim or something related to EE? I would prefer not having to go back to local sims and temporary e-sims. Thanks!

Roaming charges for Chile are set out at https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs > Chile > Pay-monthly

A local SIM may give cheaper data if you're looking to use more than 500Mb/day, and/or in-country calls. The EE roaming pass will be cheaper for outbound calling overall (especially for calls to/from the UK) and provide a small amount of data.

Only you can decide beyond that. Make sure you have worldwide roaming enabled, not just EU-specific.
