Thanks. Is this WhatsApp call also the only method for me to close my account now? (This is the last month of my contract) Or do I need to do something else?

Hello. I am currently in China and would like to keep my EE account active. I didn't send "ROAMING" to 150 before leaving the UK, so I can't connect to the EE network with my EE number or send a text message now.

I saw an answer mentioning contacting +44 800 0798586 using Skype, yet Skype is not available right now. Is there another app that can do the same thing? Will I be able to check my PAC code in China?

Also, my contract is coming to an end, and I'm considering changing my SIM plan to Safer SIM, since receiving messages is pretty much all I need. Can I change the plan with eSIM only, or do I still have to use a new physical SIM card? (I don't have an available address in the UK now.)

Sorry for the complex situation, and thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, Skype has been discontinued. There are other web-calling apps (e.g. WhatsApp I think) but they won't be free to call 0800 nos like Skype was.

Safer SIMs do not allow roaming in China (Contract not outside EU, PAYG not at all) - see Roaming on a Safer SIM plan

Roaming services allow you to use your EE SIM (and by extension, your EE account) to connect to foreign networks.

If you are already abroad, then it's too late to make any change to your account other than a price-plan change. Anything else will render your roaming facility impossible. As it stands now, roaming can still be enabled remotely by CS.

You only need reply once with the same question, EE don't have a WhatsApp contact method for CS - WA only allows "calls" between users of its app, and EE-CS is not a user.

Disconnection notice can be given by phone, letter or PAC/STAC

You can call EE's +44 7953 966150 number from any working phone, it need not be an EE one or a mobile. If you have access to the myEE app you may be able to use live chat although I'm not completely sure whether they accept cancellation notice that way.

If all else fails, then yes - you may have to write. EE is a UK operator and thus their contact methods are UK-based.
