Roaming Mobile network

Hi,

I cannot send/receive calls or messages, I changed my sim plan to pay as you go, as I am travelling outside the UK. I topped up my balance however, I cannot use it. I have received a message from EE stating if I don't make a call or send a message I may lose my number.

Can anyone assist me?

When was your SIM moved to PAYG? It takes 30 days notice to cancel a contract & before it is moved to PAYG. Had that change taken place while abroad you can't now use it at all while abroad. To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

I transferred my Sim to PAYG before I felt. And topped it up while I was abroad. I did not need to use my Sim. I was told by EE when I transferred to PAYG that as long as I top up the SIM I will not lose my number. Initially the SIM was working while I was abroad but it stopped working.

You asked for it to be transferred to PAYG before you left but it then takes 30 days notice for the transfer to happen by which time you would have been abroad. The initial time the SIM was working abroad was while it still on contract waiting for the 30-days notice to expire. Thereafter it became PAYG & you could no longer use it as I explained earlier.

I've already explained that. It worked during the 30-day notice period & then it didn't when it was transferred to PAYG.

Yes, topping-up (at least every 178 days) will keep your no. but that doesn't mean it'll work abroad.
