I’m currently in South Korea and have been using text roaming. (to get food delivery, you need to enter your number and receive a code). all has been working well, however, i went to japan and now im back in south korea, im not getting any texts through. Im connected to a local network (tried auto and manually selecting one) nothing is working.

Think it’s to do with my roaming profile and needs reset. I can’t call EE to fix this because the call won’t go through. I’ve tried the abroad number they gave me and still nothing. When i landed back in South Korea, i didn’t receive the usual welcome text either.

Can you be a bit more specific about "connected to a local network nothing is working"? I would take that to mean that your phone shows network coverage, but outbound call attempts all fail, inbound calls go to voicemail, texts won't send & data won't transfer. What do you mean?

Being completely honest, i asked ChatGPT and it said it was to do with my roaming profile.

Yes, Im currently connected to a local network, however inbound and outbound calls won’t go through, not receiving texts, and as for data i’m using an esim so I don’t know if my data is working but i’m assuming not.

My esim is connected to the same network and is working perfectly fine.

Well done for the honesty, though!

Is the eSIM one issued by that local network? And thus not a roaming one?

Are the symptoms consistent across SK, KT & LG networks?

the e-sim is issued by Three, specifically Three Hong Kong but is automatically connected to KT network

Yes, SK, KT are the same. I have service but no texts, calls etc.

As for LG, i have no service at all.

Hey there @pjskpgw1010.

Welcome to the EE Community 😊

When you've been trying to manually switch roaming networks, have you definitely been doing this for the EE SIM and not your eSIM?

If possible, I would recommend trying to remove and reinsert your EE SIM, too.
