Hi,

I’m going on holiday to Greece for two weeks and have a question about roaming charges. I’ve seen that there’s a daily roaming charge of £2.59, or an alternative option of £15 per week. Since I won’t need to use my phone every day, the daily charge might be more cost-effective for me.

Could you please clarify how the £2.59 daily charge works?

If my phone is connected to the local network in Greece but I don’t use any data, make calls, or send texts, will I still be charged?
Does the daily fee only apply on days when I actively use my phone (e.g., sending a text, using data, or making a call)?
If I receive a text message, will that trigger the daily charge even if I don’t reply or use any other services?

The mere act of connecting to a local network abroad does not incur charges. Receiving text messages is free globally. The daily charge is triggered when any chargeable activity takes place - making or receiving calls, sending a text message, or using mobile data.

So... 1: You've not mentioned receipt of an incoming call, otherwise no.. 2: Yes, 3: No
