The Welcome text on arrival in a country should contain a link to where you can buy the roaming pass.

I have just returned from a cruise and urgently needed to use my data and phone calls while in Cyprus (EU), Greece (EU) and Turkey (non-EU). In the good old days you could buy a roaming pass BEFORE leaving. Now you have to wait until you arrive in the country whereby (if you are lucky) you will get a text from EE welcoming you that country. It will also give you options for buying either a 24 hour pass or a 7 day pass. What the text fails to explain is how to actually buy these passes. No links included. Sending various texts to 150 just resulted in duplicate A1-generated rubbish which was of no help. I had to shell out £65 to access the ship's wifi. Having been with EE and before that, T Mobile, for 20 plus years, I am now seriously looking for another provider.

Thanks for coming to the community.

Do you have a screenshot of the text you received? This should have included a link to purchase the roaming pass, or you can visit add-on.ee.co.uk to purchase a pass.

Leanne.

The only time you can use your phone connected to network is when it is near land or port.

Indeed, and it's an inherent issue with cruise lines. You are a captive audience without any ability to choose alternative provision, so for certain services they will use that for their commercial benefit.
