@Dan516 : Did you receive a Welcome text upon arrival?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before leaving UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. using a web-calling app over WiFi.

You are stuck in USA & can't make calls. How is that not a roaming issue?

You state "I have roaming" & so I'm asking you on what basis are you able to say that?

To actually speak to someone you would need to call CS. No one will contact you from this user discussion group other than thro' the medium of these forums by posts such as this. Anyway we haven't the faintest idea who you are.

When you say "I have roaming enabled", can you confirm exactly what basis you have for saying that? Several times asked, but none responded beyond "I have travelled extensively to the USA and have had no trouble before.". To avoid doubt, are you saying that you have used this phone (SIM, to be exact) in the US previously?

On this specific trip, have you been able to send or receive texts previously? This includes the welcome text message on first arrival.

Have you been able to make or receive calls previously? Have you been able to use mobile data previously? Are the symptoms the same across each available local network, having tried each one manually?

All these questions are driving at whether you have roaming enabled - many users travel abroad without it being enabled and find themselves with no coverage abroad. In the absence of confirmation to the contrary, this could explain your symptoms.

and as I see no one mention this yet. There is no email address you can use for customer support as emails are too slow to deal with customer issues.

Live chat is available via the EE app under help.

You say “ I have travelled extensively to the USA and have had no trouble before. ”. Is that with this contract? and as EE are you provided?

EE are not rubbish, unfortunately, Skype has now been switched off, so unless Teams from Microsoft works and you can make a call for free or using another web based app to call, that is the only way to talk to customer service, but not sure what you expect EE to do, as you are roaming.

Hi Leanne,

Thanks!

I can. I think the issue is the e-sim in my phone is corrupting/corrupted
by the physical sim.

Do you know if I remove the SIM card if I’ll still be able to use the phone
via the Ee e-sim?
