Calling the uk from Australia

I have a zone 1 roaming package with data and calls. I cannot make or receive calls from the uk. I have changed networks manually, restarted the phone, WiFi on, WiFi off etc and nothing. I made a call yesterday eventually but nothing today. Have spoken online to EE and absolutely no use at all. My father is in hospital and I have to be able to speak to him and staff. Any help greatly appreciated.

Can you call Australian numbers?

What did EE suggest, when you spoke to them online?

No I’ve tried calling an Australian number as has my partner and nothing. EE suggested manual network changes, turning off private relay, turning phone off for 3 minutes and 2 minutes. Also not using WiFi calling. Oh and calling 150 to speak to CS
