2-monthly roaming pass covering South American countries?

Hi, I am travelling across 7 different countries in South America from 13 March to 15 May 2025 (2 months). The countries I'm visiting are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay. I am a monthly paying EE customer of many years.

I've looked at the EE roaming pass information, but I can only find daily 'passes' of £7.50 per day, except Uruguay of £37.50 for 7 days. You don't seem to do any type of passes for Bolivia, Paraguay or Peru. Is this correct? I thought I'd read about a 2-monthly pass of £11.70; does it exist?

Grateful if you could let me know asap please because 63 days @ £7.50 per day is horrendous @ £472!! Especially when I only want the Data to be able to use google maps! I don't need text or calls. Thanks.

Bolivia & Paraguay are listed under zone 4 on https://ee.co.uk/roamingrefresh , Peru is Zone 1

Whatever billing option you choose, remember to enable the free roaming facility before leaving the UK - this unlocks access to foreign networks. Text ROAMING to 150 from the UK

There are no 2-monthly passes. The longest is weekly & then not for every country. Paraguay is 1 such with no passes & no data at all.

@ramblingros25 If you want this only for maps you’ll be better off using a sat nav with these places already loaded. It’ll cost a lot less and you’ll get a connection even in remote locations where a cell service might not exist.

Plus if you do a bit of homework you’ll probably be able to keep it charged up with a small solar panel.

Thanks. But I need the maps for things like walking from a bus station to hotel, or finding my way around a city. I can’t think how I can have a sat nav without using my mobile.

The function of the mobile data connection when using Google maps or suchlike is generally two-fold

1: Provides the ability to search "online" for a location to navigate to. A sat-nav or GPS-device will store this data offline instead.

2: Provides real-time mapping data to view. Google Maps for one, offers downloadable offline maps for the same purpose.

Your phone should have a GPS-function alongside its mobile network radios.

If using an iPhone, Apple Maps also allow map downloads so this can all be done using public WiFi before going to an area if you don't want to store all the maps on your phone.
