topic iphone in Roaming

Hey, hope someone can help. I have been away in Germany and while I was there my phone wanted to update its software. Once it had updated, I realised I couldn't make any telephone calls out, couldn't send any text messages or even receive calls on it. I thought it was a problem with Apple so I've been onto them and they've done all they could. Apparently it's an EE issue. Can anyone help please? Thanks

Did your phone work abroad before this software update? Or did it never work abroad in the first place?

Hi bristolian,
Thanks for your reply.
My phone was working perfectly well before I went abroad. In fact I'd been
in Japan, Cyprus and China before Germany and everything was fine. It was
only after the phone updated that the problems started.
Any ideas would be gratefully accepted?

Thank you,
Unfortunately, I cannot even call EE!

thelonepenguin

If your SIM has worked abroad, roaming is evidently active. If the only change between "working" & "non-working" is a device software update, then there's the cause of the problem.

Are you using an eSIM or physical SIM?

Does the phone show a connection to any local networks? What happens when you try making a call or sending a text message?
