Within my contact, all rounder sim, I currently have free EU roaming. If I go to the USA and Canada will I have to purchase the roam abroad pass? TIA.

Not if the free EU roaming you have is an Inclusive Extra of the Roam Abroad Pass.

As you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your account.

Yes, that's probably the Roam Abroad Pass. Have a look at your Extras/Add-ons in your online EE a/c.
