Hi All,

I was supplied by EE with a small mobile router that worked brilliantly until it ran out of data. Fair enough but I had an awful job trying to buy more data (I was in France at the time) On returning home I asked on here and got information on how to top up data. Excellent. Being a little cautious I put the minimum of £5 just to see if it worked. Bingo all well. We went to St Neots and used the router for two days using two tablets mainly for catching up on the news (no downloading files etc.) I was surprised to discover it ran out of data again. So my question is - how much data do I get for£5 or £20?

In the past I have used a Huawei with a 3 network 24GB data sim valid for 2 years. Would I be better off buying another Huawei router and 3 sim or sticking with this EE router and buying more data?

The problem is that once you run out of data you can't access the internet and there wasn't any warning that I was about to run out. Is there a EE page that tells you how much data you get for a given amount.?

No, you can't access the Net but you can access that page as it's within the EE network & is unmetered.

Well I tried another browser with a 50% success - Ipad ok, Samsung not ok. It still doesn't answer the question though and that is how much data do you get for £5 or £20

Here is an update that others may find useful.

When topping up your top up amount starts from either when you top up or when you first use data. In my case I used data to check that all was working well. What I hadn't realised was that your 30 days begins. So after I checked all was well I didn't use the mini router for the next 28 days only to find my 30 day limit was up - all finished.

For me the 30 day limit is useless as I use the router infrequently so topping up would be a waste of money. It is starting to look like the end of the road with EE for me - I have been with EE for over 10 years with 2 phones and broadband. However I feel like I have been penalised as by upgrading at the end of my contracts I have lost EU roaming and now have to pay for something that was included. I have unlimited broadband and the mini router was a nice "perk" but now that is of no benefit It seems wrong that I have to pay for data on the mini router as I would not be using my "unlimited data when away" but have to pay again. My contract on both phones and Broadband expire towards the end of this year and I will have to look at a different provider

That's not topping up! It's when you buy a pack or add-on that the 30 days starts from when you 1st use it.
