Roaming SIMs still use the same networks to roam onto as EE does, and whilst you're at sea, you're essentially captive to whatever on-board comms the ship offers. It's the nature of the beast, and why maritime roaming is not cheap.

I am about to embark on a world cruise calling at 19 countries. I intend to use an eSim whilst at sea but can anyone suggest what kind of EE data roaming package I would need for such a trip between several continents ?

Hi @Thistle3,

Thanks for visiting the EE Community

First I would recommend just texting ROAMING to 150 from your phone and following the instructions to check and confirm your phone is setup for worldwide roaming.

Roaming options will depend largely on your plan as some plans do have roaming included. I would recommend visiting the EE app and if you go to Manage> Roaming you can enter the countries you will be visiting and find out what your options will be.

Our roaming works on a zone basis with certain countries being grouped together in zones. If you scroll to the bottom of this page you can see which countries come under which zone and the options and cost for each zone.

Hope you enjoy your trip

Alex

I ask becase it maybe worth upgrading your tariff to one with EU and international roaming. Again this plus a gap.

Enjoy your trip as 19 country cruise sounds amazing! 😀

Thanks
