Roaming not working

Well I've tried phoning EE from the US about the problem. Having to use Skype of course because I can't make overseas calls. The auto response says that roaming is active but I still can't make outgoing calls to anywhere but US Numbers. Rebooted phone, checked roaming, I'm being connected to T Mobile but dead as a doornail. Tried to talk to customer service via Skype but wait time 25 minutes. This really isn't good enough

Hi @MatildaGrace

Have you tried manually selecting a different network, for example AT&T?
When you select a network, please allow 5 minutes for it to connect fully before testing.

Also, just checking when you're calling other numbers you're using the international format, for example for UK it's +44

Your symptoms are consistent with an international call bar being active.
