EE PAYG Roaming in Turkey – Can Receive SMS but Cannot Make/Receive Calls

Hi,

I’m currently in Turkey using an EE Pay As You Go SIM.

I have sufficient credit and my phone connects to a local network. I can receive SMS messages, but I cannot send SMS, make calls, or receive calls.

I have already tried restarting the phone, airplane mode, checking roaming settings, and manually selecting different Turkish networks, but nothing has worked.

Has anyone had the same issue, or does this sound like roaming/call barring on the EE account?

Had you used that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before going abroad? To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.
