I got my mum a new sim from the supermarket and she wants it’s just so she can use WhatsApp, she doesn’t need all the data and calls just needs the number to be verified for her to use in her tablet. She is always connected to WiFi so how can I get this sim to work just for that. She doesn’t have the means to be topping up £10 a month for her not to use the perks. Any advice?

@Blondie34 : She doesn't need to top-up every month but does need to top-up once the £5 min. to receive texts that WhatsApp will want to send her upon registration.

Ok thanks I will try that, it shows £10 on the sim cover so is that the minimum

No, that's the pack the SIM she choose is primed with but doesn't have to be bought. In fact don't top-up £10 or it will buy this pack.

She can try using Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no. & it doesn't remember your card details.

I tried topping it up £5 put all details in WhatsApp and it says cannot verify right now. Any other ideas

What does texting AL to 150 from your/her no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?
