should a prepaid card must be cancelled?

I bought this SIM card at an airport convenience store. It has been a long time since then. When I left the UK, I didn’t cancel or deactivate it. I thought it was a prepaid SIM card. I want to know whether it could have incurred any charges. I can no longer find the card, nor can I log into the account, so I’m wondering: for this kind of prepaid SIM card, if I didn’t cancel it, would it still incur charges or even affect my personal credit? If so, what should I do now?

No, it can't have incurred any charges. After 6 months of non-use it would've gone into hibernation & after a further 3 months it would've been deactivated completely.

Thank you for your reply. However, I honestly can’t remember whether I subscribed to any plan—I only recall topping up £5. The problem is, I’ve lost the SIM card, so I’m unable to verify anything.

It doesn't matter anyway. You can't incur further charges.

Thanks for coming to the community.

If the SIM card was pay as you go and now deactivated as @XRaySpeX has advised this would no longer have any payments being taken.

Also, a Pay as you go account would not affect your credit file as this is not a contract.
