You don't get dial tones with mobile phones; just ringing tones after you have connected.

How come you spent £1.80 on an incoming call? Are you not in UK?

Hello

I have a PAYG SIM. I rarely use it but I keep it alive by making a chargeable call every 6 months.

I have definitely made a chargeable call in the last 6 months (just); I have credit, I am receiving calls and text messages to the number BUT whenever I try to make an outgoing call I get a dial tone.

I think my number is still active as someone just called me and my credit dropped by GBP1.80 but I am worried I have lost or might lose my number as I can not make outgoing calls.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. It is important to me to keep this number.

Many thanks.

Sorry - I meant that I get a busy tone; I don't get any ringing; it always says line busy.

Apparently there is a problem with roaming in certain countries (correct, I am not in the UK).

So my question still remains: by receiving a call and it making a dent on my credit, does that count as a chargeable call?
Thanks,
