      <title>PAYG SIM hibernation</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am reaching out for EE customer services&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Im currently abroad, and changed from contract to PAYG SIM in September 2024.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What I wasn’t advised by EE at the time was that the SIM would need to be used in the UK, before roaming could be activated.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i need to keep my number active for various banking and online security verification.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I got a text from EE a few days ago, stating that I need to make a chargeable call/text, however it is not possible to do this, even though I have credit on my account.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I understand this subject has been approached before and the advice was to order a replacement SIM and ask someone in the UK to activate it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However when I try to do so using the EE app, even though I am logged in to manage my number, at the last point the number defaults to the other number (my partners) which is on contract and linked to my account!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please help&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Paul&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi &lt;SPAN style="background: var(--ck-color-mention-background); color: var(--ck-color-mention-text);"&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/4649596"&gt;@paulturner2&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt; You'd need to use your sim on a UK network for you to use your phone on pay as you go while abroad.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;A way to get the sim activated would be to send it back to the UK to a friend or a family member, then they'd just need to make a call or a text, then send the sim back to you, This would also stop your account going into &lt;A href="https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/pay-as-you-go/pay-as-you-go-credit-run-out-when-i-havent-made-calls" target="_blank"&gt;hibernation&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
