PAYG sim for an alarm system

Hi - we are getting a PAYG sim card to put inside our intruder alarm - for the purposes of dialling out when the alarm alerts us to an intruder.

We will, of course, put credit on this sim, to enable calls to be made - but the calls will be sparse and infrequent.

Will this sim card go into hibernation mode at any point ? We need to be able to rely on it when the need arises

To keep a SIM active and prevent hibernation you will need to make a chargeable action every 179 days.

A chargeable action is any of the following:

Voice and data usage. This includes making calls, sending text messages and picture messages, retrieving a voicemail, and using data that is not within your pack or add-on.
Topping up your account.
Buying a pack or an add-on.
