I am now in New Zealand and thought as a PAYG customer I would be able to receive texts free as in

Roaming Costs | Help | EE

My phone does not work

Is there any way I can get it to work now ?

What phone are you using?

Can you make and receive calls ?

can you text out ?

can you use data provided you’ve purchased a data add on ?

Hi Chris

I have a Nokia very basic phone which worked OK in the UK before leaving for NZ

By saying it won't work I mean after switching on I do not get anything happening

It will not start to look for a signal --- just nothing happening

Can't text out can't connect to make or receive calls

The phone will not try to find a signal , I have not purchased a data add on

Not having network coverage would cause knock-on effects with any service that needs a network connection - that includes calls, texts & mobile data.

EE PAYG SIM's are auto-activated for roaming once they are first used in the UK. If you are sure this was completed, try a manual network search and connect to an alternative NZ network.
