Keep my existing EE number with a new device purchased from EE online

I want to buy a new device from EE online shop, using simple pay as you go, no contract. I currently have an EE mobile number on my old pay as you go phone. How will I be able to keep my existing EE number, this is not explained at check out. Thanks

@janwright : But you might lose the mandatory credit (£10?) that comes with a new EE PAYG phone.
