Been provided a PAYG mini wifi and SIM to allow me to work remotely. Tried to top up SIM card but comes up with a fault. Is there any way to check if a SIM card can still be activated? (I have no idea how old it is and appreciate they arent active after a period of time).

@C-Rod : Sounds like your PAYG SIM has gone into hibernation.

When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

I have just been given it by a family member and it was all still in its packaging. No idea how long its not been used/ not activated.

Is there a way of checking or getting a new PAYG sim card for the mini Wifi 4g?

There should be a "Start using before" date on the packaging.

You can order 1 from Pay as you go SIMs
