Mobile data included when roaming (pay monthly sim-only)?

Hi,

I just flew to italy and am confused from the EE website.

I’m a sim-only pay monthly customer with a very old contract dating back before 2021.

Is mobile data included when roaming?

You sure you are on a pay monthly SIM-Only contract & not a 30-day PAYG SIM?

If so, & you haven't changed your contract by updating since July 2021, then your mobile data allowance is included.

If you are on contract, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

Good question, it’s an old sim-only pack called ‘£10 Everything Pack‘. It’s paid automatically by direct debit monthly.

“Your 30 day £10 Everything Pack will renew automatically tomorrow night using your[…]”.

I suppose it’s not what ee calls pay monthly?

@luckyluca : That's right! It's PAYG. It's not paid by DD but by recurring bank card payment.

For PAYG there are now roaming charges for using your pack allowances in the EU of either £2.50 / day, by texting ROAMEU1D to 150, or £10 / week, by texting ROAMEU7D to 150, to be taken only from your PAYG credit, not your recurring card payment. You will receive a msg upon arrival telling you about the charges for roaming in EU. If you opt to text neither or you don't have an active pack, you will be paying standard rates for calls & texts & need to buy a small add-on for data.

Any PAYG account could be cancelled whenever you choose, by stopping any recurring top-ups or monthly packs.

The same doesn't apply to a pay-monthly contract.
