No, your card wouldn't be automatically charged. You'd need credit available for the daily fee when roaming.

HMMM... EE PAYG isn't much of a compelling offer any more. 4G only - newbies capped at 25 mbps and ZERO EU roaming allowance.

Vodafone has roaming fees now too. Though slightly lower
£2.25 per day vs £2.50
£10 for 8 days vs 7 days
£15 for 15 days vs £20 for 14 days

I’m thinking 1pMobile. It’s a much more compelling offer:
EE network
5G not 4G
£15 gets you 50gb not 25gb and £20 comes with 200gb not 50gb
14gb of EU roaming on the £15 and £20 plans

I'm now starting to consider 1p mobile from the lates text i go about EU Roaming

I think it was inevitable that they would do that but i left 3 (for EE) because they also re-introduced roaming fees

One by one everybody is bringing back roaming fees. Brexit made it possible so why forgo the revenue, right? 🤓

Lebara still offers 30gb of free EU roaming but for how long I guess ? and ultimately you’d need to be well served by a Vodafone signal at home. I’m happier with EE performance wise.

Cuz it's not yet the 6th June.

Roaming charges are being introduced for PAYG from 06/06/23 as either £2.50 / day or £10 / week to be taken only from your PAYG credit, not your recurring card payment.

Why don't they put that on their website then? How will anyone buying a new sim know that? I am looking at alternative providers now but how will I know if these providers plan on doing the same if it's not stated on their websites?

Virgin media say roaming is free in the EU. Does anyone know if they plan to change this?

And it’s applicable from the 6th of June, not now and if any one wants to change network they can it’s PAYG not a contract so you’re not tied to the network for a set period.

You also check THIS before you go out of the UK to check costs and you don’t assume anything as assuming you’ll not be charged doesn’t cover you if you are charged and are not aware of it.
