Keep EE number when moving from PAYM to PAYG?

Hi i've got an old Pay monthly plan (from Orange btw!) which I want to migrate to a PAYG plan. WHILST keeping my existing number.

After some toing and froing it is now on a PAYG account. How do I buy a PAYG plan for it whilst keeping the old number?

@pacman27 : I don't understand. You say that "it (the old Pay monthly plan) is now on a PAYG account". Doesn't that mean it has kept the old number?

Hi apparently my old plan was a 3G one and EE are turning 3G off in Jan 2023. So I needed a 4G plan.

My old plan was based on an old Orange one which was a pay as you consume PAYC - ie got a monthly bill and you paid the charges of what you used. Kinda like a pay as you go but settled via a bill - monthly !

The nearest equivalent plan is a PAYG subscription pack. So EE had to migrate the plan from a PAYC to a PAYG. So i raised the request waited 4 weeks, nothing happened, rang help desk said wait a day still nothing etc etc etc. In the end having raised a formal complaint it turns out that ie you're on a 3G plan EE assume you've got a 3G phone and so won't convert your plan to a 4G one... So as I've got a 4G phone they initiated the change. Which'll change the PAYC to a PAYM and then the helpdesk changed the plan to a PAYG so now all i want to do is to add a PAYG plan whilst keeping the number.

If I look online shop there's no option to buy a new plan from EE whilst keeping your EE number. If I was on another network provider I'd just need a PAC code but EE don't support internal PAC codes.

I still don't understand. The helpdesk changed the plan to a PAYG. So you've already kept the no. So all you now want to do is add a PAYG plan PERIOD.

What no. do you get by texting NUMBER to 150? Is it the no. you want?

ok maybe i don't get the online shop but when in ordering the new PAYG plan there's no tick box to say keep existing EE number, there's loads of stuff re PAC codes, name, address, bank details etc but the online shop treats you like a NEW EE customer.

You don't need to buy anything from the EE shop. You've already got the SIM which has been converted to PAYG. All can be done from that.
