topic Calls repeatedly dropping in central Wrexham in Mobile Network discussions

There is an issue with calls in central Wrexham going via an unused mast which results in calls made in or out dropping after 30 seconds to 2 minutes - the EE customer can still hear the other party, but it goes completely silent for the other caller and eventually cuts off, or the EE caller's audio sounds completely robotic and then the call drops. My partner has reported it already and spoken to an engineer who could see the dropped calls, and the involvement of this rogue mast, and was investigating but then the report came back that there was no issue after all.

Today, my elderly father-in-law has been unable to call the district nurses repeatedly to discuss his care, and after 3 failed attempts to continue a conversation with him I resorted to calling via WhatsApp. He has no landline so his mobile phone is critical for his medical needs and contacts.

My partner works in the same area (LL11) and I am often unable to speak to him via call due to the continued drop outs. This needs to be investigated further. Multiple people responded to say they had the same issue when my partner posted on social media about it back in May.

Welcome to the Community, @RosieReality

I really appreciate your concern with this, and thanks for taking the time to share your experience here, too.

Have you had a chance to speak with our technical team about these issues? They'll be able to look into the area directly and give a bit more detail on what is happening.

In the meantime, if possible I would recommend anyone affected to enable WiFi Calling in their settings.

With this enabled, you can use any available WiFi signal to carry your calls and texts in place of the normal mobile signal.
